Mr. Matsumoto acted as the project leader of IEC/TC 9/TS 62773 (Procedure to determine the performance requirements for radio systems applied to radio-based train control systems) and made efforts in formulating the first system standards proposed by Japan in the railway field.
In addition, he proposed an amendment to the contents related to availability of RAMS standards, one of the most important standards in IEC/TC 9, and also acted as the rapporteur in AHG 9 investigating said matters.
He has contributed not only to formulating particular standards but also to increase Japanese presence and influence in IEC/TC 9.
