Recipient Company Achievements
Hiroto Ikeda Meidensha Corporation Mr. Ikeda has contributed to the formulation of the standardization draft as part of a committee for the preparation of a Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) draft on DC switching gear.

He has also led the preparation of source materials to be used as a technical base while working over a total of five years as a member of various mirror working groups of IEC/TC9 for fixed installation.
Takuya Ishioka Mitsubishi Electric Corporation Mr. Ishioka has contributed to the formulation of the standardization draft as chief secretary of the JIS draft committee on a radio train-control system, taking the initiative in studying compatibility with the standards of the Urban Guided Transport Management and Command/Control Systems (UGTMS) of IEC/TC9 and also drawing up a standardization draft.

He also spent a total of seven years formulating standardization drafts as a member of the mirror working groups on UGTMS standards and Automated Urban Guided Transport (AUGT) standards on safety requirements for automatic operation. As an international expert on UGMTS, Mr. Ishioka has also played a key role in introducing Japan's signal system into the standards.
Toshihiro Koyama Toshiba Corporation Mr. Koyama has contributed to the formulation of the standardization draft as chief secretary of the JIS draft committee on a radio train-control system, taking the initiative in drafting functional specifications for key processing equipment and respective devices.

He has also served as a member of the mirror working group of IEC/TC9 for the UGTMS standards to formulate the specifications of a safety control function both for on-board control devices and for ground facilities.
Yutaka Sato Hitachi, Ltd. As an international expert of IEC/TC9 in the Train Communication Network (TCN), Mr. Sato has proactively contributed to the drawing up of Japan's presentation and preparation of counterproposals for proposals made overseas.

He has also taken the initiative in summarizing domestic opinions and contributing to the formulation of a response policy as a member of mirror working groups on TCN standards and train multimedia system standards.
Shinobu Noguchi East Japan Railway Company Having served as an international expert in ISO standards on the Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS) for managing an interoperable fare system over a total of five years, Mr. Noguchi has contributed to discussions on and review of standards while steering meetings in the right direction.

He has also rendered services as a member of the mirror working group on IFMS standards, helping with draft formulation for domestic opinions.
Hiroshi Hata Railway Technical Research Institute Mr. Hata has contributed to the formulation of draft standards and revision work both as a member and as chairman of the JIS draft committee on electrical components for train application over a total of 17 years.

He has also rendered services as a chairman in the mirror working group of IEC/TC9 on electrical component standards for train application over a total of seven years, summarizing domestic opinions and helping with the formulation of a response policy.
Kenzo Fujisawa Tetsudo Kiki, Ltd. Mr. Fujisawa took the initiative in formulating and revising draft standards on railroad turnouts and rails as chief secretary and as a member of various committees to prepare related JIS proposals over a total of 19 years.
