For ten years, Mr. Shimazoe has participated actively as a member and expert of the Japanese mirror working group of IEC/TC 9 for Urban Guided Transport Management and command/control Systems (UGTMS) standards and has contributed to having Japanese comments adopted into the standards.
He has also acted as a member of the Japanese mirror working group on Automated Urban Guided Transport (AUGT) standards and the Japanese preparatory working group for international standards on radio-based train control systems, and has greatly contributed to drafting the documents submitted from Japan.

For four years, Mr. Baba has acted as a member of the Japanese preparatory working group for international standards on radio-based train control systems, and has made efforts in drafting the standards submitted from Japan.
He contributed to decisions regarding the initiation of standardizing the "Procedure to determine the performance requirements for radio systems applied to radio-based train control systems" standards of IEC/TC 9.
After the beginning of standardizing, he acted as an expert in IEC/TC 9/PT 62733 handling the standards, and contributing to Japan-led deliberations.

For ten years, Mr. Matsuoka has participated in domestic and international standardization on FSW (Friction Stir Welding) and has contributed to the publishing of ISO 25239-1 through 25239-5 which are the international standards on aluminum friction stir welding.
He proposed solutions and coordinated views on patent statements in order to resolve patent problems, which contributed significantly to having aluminum FSW available as general-purpose technology.
