In 2012, ISO/TC 269 was established in order to take over the development of railway field standards excluding the scope of IEC/TC 9. Since then, the deliberation on generic standards as well as product specific standards (HVAC system, brakes, recyclability and recoverability of rolling stock, sleepers and fasteners) has begun.
