Achievement |
Hidetoshi Homma |
Railway Technical Research Institute |
As the head of the IEC/TC 9 (Electrical equipment and systems for railways) Japanese National Commission, Mr. Homma pushed forward proposals and discussions for new standards.
And as an expert of IEC/TC 9 and ISO/TC 269 (Railway applications), he made efforts in the formulation of international standards.
In the cases of DC supplied electronic ballasts for lighting florescent lamps (IEC 62718) and rolling stock electrical connections (IEC 62847), the business scales are small and the domestic industry cannot provide enough resources. Mr. Homma was able to summarize and have these details included in the international standards.
Additionally, he contributed to JIS related discussions as a member of the Railway Technology Ad Hoc Committee.
